Derek has 30 years of construction and geotechnical experience working at a high level in the civil engineering and specialist geotechnical contracting and consulting worlds.
He maintains a wide interest in the industry, is past chairman of the Federation of Piling Specialists Technical Committee and UK representative on British and European Geotechnical Standard Committees.
Derek has a passion for the challenges of geotechnical engineering and is an enthusiastic communicator in his chosen area having written nearly 30 peer reviewed technical papers. He presents on geotechnical topics throughout the UK and abroad.
