Position 1

Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Salary: £50,00- £60,000

Fed up of being a small cog in a large engineering consultancy, never seeing your designs become a reality? Or perhaps you are working for a geotechnical contractor and looking for a new challenge to broaden and deepen your geotechnical knowledge? If this is you and you have 3 to 6 years experience – we would like to hear from you.

Remedy Geotechnics is the place for you to thrive and grow. We are looking for a senior engineer to join our growing consultancy and help us in our quest to deliver high quality, pragmatic designs for our forward workload of exciting and challenging projects. In return, we will provide you with hands on training to support your technical development to help you gain the experience and knowledge that you strive for.

Remedy Geotechnics

Established in 2015, Remedy Geotechnics has grown to become a well respected geotechnical design consultancy within the wider civil engineering community. We have been involved in some flagship projects, such as the design of the ground anchor replacement for the worlds oldest transport suspension bridge, geotechnical design for the Liverpool to Isle of Man ferry terminal, pile and retaining wall design for some of the most prestigious developments in UK’s major cities and some of the largest reinforced soil walls built in the UK, to name just a few projects.

Due to increasing workload and client base, we are looking to expand. We are a highly focused geotechnical design practice and our day to day work generally encompasses bearing pile design, shallow foundation design, retaining wall design, slope stabilisation, soil nailing, reinforced soil, ground improvement, earthworks, ground anchor design and working platform design. Your objective:

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will lead projects and deliver pragmatic high quality geotechnical solutions on time and to budget. • Continually operating in line with Remedy Geotechnics’ values.

  • Experience in pricing and winning work.
  • A track record in the use of standard geotechnical design software.
  • Expertise in numerical modelling would be advantageous.
  • A good approach to risk management would be beneficial.
  • A very strong knowledge of fundamental soil mechanics principles and a demonstrable practical design ability in geotechnical engineering design.
  • An ability to apply engineering knowledge to provide practical and pragmatic solutions.
  • A passion for geotechnics.

Qualifications:

A good civil engineering or engineering geology degree plus an MSc/PhD in geotechnical engineering.
